No idea why the following is necessary, but it worked for me: sudo rfkill unblock bluetooth I've had to do it twice in the last two weeks, which suggests something random is happening that results in Bluetooth being blocked after a restart. I kept trying to unblock (or block-then-unblock) bluetooth using rfkill, but nothing happened. Status was always "Soft blocked: yes". Aug 14, 2013 · When the interface was put back up, my computer would think I was in airplane mode because it was hardblocked. rfkill unblock all was not doing anything for me. I found a post that helped me to prevent the hard block. I still can not however connect to a network using network manager. It just keeps searching and never finds a network.
