28.07.2008 · Try adding a gateway entry there if there isn't one - use your router's IP as the gateway. The purpose of no gateway, there are 4 servers (2-linux, 2-2003 k) and all point to a unix netapp (storage), so unix netapp xxx.xxx.111.22 and both 2003 servers are .23.& .24 with the red hat I am trying to bring up .25.

Aug 03, 2011 · When I set it static I get "destination host unreachable". If I put Windows 7 on it instead, it gets an IP address from DHCP and can access the internet and everything totally fine, so it's not a network/router/cabling issue. But with CentOS I get the below: PING 192.168.1.91 (192.168.1.91) 56 (84) bytes of data.

Oct 30, 2006 · ok, it's possible that the server is dropping ping requests, i think that would make a host unreachable scenario according to the ICMP RFC definitions. but if that is the case then you'd still have avalid arp table entry, so run "arp" and see if it shows it there. if it does then that is talking to you at some level.

Host-only networking allows your guest to access your host and your guest to access other guests. However, it does not allow network traffic to pass between the guest to the real physical network beyond the host, including the internet. You are unable to ping 8.8.8.8 because that machine is neither your host nor one of your virtual machines.
