We don't set limits on when channels revert you back to the home screen. Netflix will ask "Are you still watching?" whereas Hulu will continuously stream. This is a setting by the channel provider. You could set your Roku player to go idle after 10 minutes of non-use and just show the screensaver. This is under Settings > Screensaver > Wait time.

Re: Roku returns to home screen while streaming. Jump to solution. Your first sentence is my guess where the problem is. Your modem reset was done, I assume, to fix some problem. Often a reset will push firmware/setting updates to your modem.

Roku Ultra 4670x keeps doing the same thing. Doesn’t matter which channel or sling, Netflix, crackle, it goes to home screen after about 15 seconds. It initially started this a months or so ago, after a couple hours it would jump to the home screen. Now it’s only 15 seconds before it goes to the home screen.
All apps on Roku Express close and return to home screen randomly... Thought it was just Netflix at first, but now it has happened with Plex and Pluto TV, too.
