04.03.2022 · The road, stretching northeast out of Santa Fe, was constructed in 1934 to reach Hyde Memorial State Park after Benjamin Talbot Hyde donated 350 acres to the state in the same year. Hyde Park Road was extended in 1949 to reach the ski basin and later, in the ‘60s, connected to US 84-285, receiving the designation as a state highway—NM 475.

Ski Santa Fe is at the top of the Hyde Park Road. The Ski Area is permitted on Forest Service Land. See Ski Santa Fe website for more information.

Jan 02, 2019 · A pair of carbon hoops and a beautifully paved road allow me to flow down the mountain too. It’s cool, but the few short upticks keep me plenty warm. I had a great time exploring Santa Fe on two wheels. I fully understand why the ski basin ride is such a hallowed experience. With family now living in the area, I’ll be back.
