Relief - Apple Music lossless over airplay to Sonos S2 is phenomenal!!! 24bit/44.1khz significantly better than 16 bit or lower. Spatial audio - so far only found one track that displays as Dolby Atmos. Lossless has me captivated so not so worried about spatial audio for now.

08.11.2021 · When listening to music directly through Apple Music on my Sonos speakers (via Airplay), I definitely notice improved quality with the new “lossless” quality offered by Apple. My ears, however, seem to think that the quality isn’t as high-fidelity when I listen to the same music via the S2 app (which, of course, is pulling the same music from my Apple Music subscription).

17.05.2021 · Streaming Apple Music from MacBook Air (Big Sur 11.4) using AirPlay to a Sonos One Gen 1 appears to be streaming in lossless, at least from what the Music App reports, and there is a slight audible difference when changing between standard and lossless.
