As I understand it it’s actually because of 2 things. First the spatial audio is controlled through the iOS and iPadOS software, and requires apps for those specific devices for it to work. The apps alone kill the ability for MacOS. There’s not a single streaming service besides AppleTV+ that provides a dedicated app.
