Svalbard Hotell er et fint utgangspunkt for å oppleve Longyearbyen til fots og på sykkel. Hotellet serverer en god frokost, men svanet stent egg. Middag med reinsdyr og sjokoladefondant var utsøkt, den bør prøves. Tur med Arctic Explorer til Barentsburg I solskinn var en opplevelse.
