13.07.2018 · The authenticator app is still there on my phone but is unable to receive the codes. When I clicked on the lost phone option it says it has sent an email but I havn't received any. Only option was a hard reset.

It is not 2fa. If you enable 2fa you can scan a code with any compatible 2fa app like Google Authenticator or authy.

We recommend downloading Synology Secure SignIn (a mobile app available on both Android and iOS) for setting up 2-factor authentication.
