Umask isn't respected through NFS. We have a weird problem on our DS2015xs running DSM 5.2-5592 Update 4 - Umask isn't respected at all. If I create a file as a LDAP user on a NFS mount it gets created with 777 permissions, and if I do it as root it gets created with 000 perms. "Default UNIX permissions" box is checked in the NFS config dialog.

18.12.2015 · The umask on the client is 0022. Looking at the synology box, I can see /etc/profile also got 0022. I can change the the permissions from the client using chmod (only using sudo even though I'm the owner), but for some reason the permissions change back to 777 automatically if a different file or directory is created.
