28.10.2014 · What is OneNote and why compare it to the SharePoint Wiki I am not sure I would go as far as comparing one with the other, but OneNote offers that “quick” the Wiki promises, very differently. If you’re not familiar with OneNote , I recommend you start checking it out as it becomes a part of your regular Office Suite.
The Wiki is fast and simple but only works inside Teams. OneNote offers more features and can be used outside Teams. My advice: if the Wiki works for you, that's great. Use it. If you want more out of your note-taking, and the ability to reference notes outside of Teams, use OneNote.

Wikis are folder structure document libraries in your site’s Site Contents folders. Individual sections are saved as .mht files. This can get messy reassembling and manipulating.
