Fixed by selecting the mailbox affected and using: Mail > Mailbox > Rebuild. If that hadn't worked I'd have deleted the account from accounts and then re-added it. Probably caused by a recent update.

I believe the ItemEvents collection contains the items affected by the subscribed event (e.g. new messages), but not all of the items in the collection may still be relevant - e.g. the ItemId is no longer ...
