As of July 2013 still very poor support for UEFI in all Linux distro's more than 12 months after it came to market in PC's. This month I tried a brand new custom built PC with Ubuntu & all of its derivatives with no success to install except Kubuntu but it was extremely unstable to the point of uselessness (probably a fluke it installed at all).

Warning: These instructions are written primarily for UEFI-based PCs. If you've installed Linux in BIOS mode on a Mac but want to boot Linux in EFI mode, you can install your boot program in OS X. rEFInd (or the older rEFIt) is the usual choice on Macs, but GRUB can be made to work with some extra effort.

Jul 23, 2014 · Not sure if Linux Mint fits your criteria but I was having problems installing Linux Lite on a new Lenovo Yoga 300 because it has Windows 10 upgrade I needed a Distro with UEFI 64 bit . I was pointed to Linux Mint 17.2 with Xfce as used by Lite . I put it on a USB drive and it installed worked out of the box .

Install a Linux distro that fully supports secure boot - they do exist. Ubuntu comes to mind.

06.07.2017 · Insert your boot device of choice, select Use a device, and select the device you want to boot from. After booting from the removable device, you can install Linux as you normally would or just use the live environment from the removable device without installing it. Bear in mind that Secure Boot is a useful security feature.
