I have a full Unifi stack at home, with the following config: - 1 LAN + 3 VLANs (private, guest and IoT) - 1 Pi-Hole working as the sole DNS server, I've made some changes on the Pi-Hole so it would use the cloudflared application to made DNS requests using DoH, and proxy-dnssec on the dnsmasq conf to translate DNSSEC.

I will this also. on Synology router a friend have this feature long time ago. come on unifi make this feature enalbe on usg.

The primary benefit of DOH is that by using HTTPS for DNS, none of the internet service providers between the home or office network and the upstream DOH server can see and monitor the DNS traffic. The Registry service is extraneous to the Unifi Controller and supporting services.

I personally have my Unifi Controller running on a Docker image on my Synology DS916+. As my Synology is running 24/7, there is no need for me to have additional hardware such as a Unifi Cloud Key. A Unifi Cloud Key also cost about $100 so I would far rather invest that in a Synology DS218+ that has a stacks of additional functionality.
