Apr 26, 2019 · PyTorch’s RNN (LSTM, GRU, etc) modules are capable of working with inputs of a padded sequence type and intelligently ignore the zero paddings in the sequence. If the goal is to train with mini-batches, one needs to pad the sequences in each batch. In other words, given a mini-batch of size N, if the length of the largest sequence is L, one ...

Jan 14, 2021 · It is an inverse operation to pack_padded_sequence (). It pads a packed batch of variable length sequences. 1. 2. output, input_sizes = pad_packed_sequence (packed_output, batch_first=True) print(ht [-1]) The returned Tensor’s data will be of size T x B x *, where T is the length of the longest sequence and B is the batch size.

Apr 14, 2018 · Yes, you code is correct and will work always for a batch size of 1. But, if you want to use a batch size other than 1, you’ll need to pack your variable size input into a sequence, and then unpack after LSTM. You can find more details in my answer to a similar question. P.S. - You should post such questions to codereview.
