In this case VMware introduced a faster way to process data over Network NBD mode (async processing). As this is a new technology for VMware there are more potential bugs.

There are 2 ways to address this.

I personally restarted the Veeam Backup and Replication service after I added the new key, however, from what I read on the forums, that was unnecessary.
