ABER – es bleibt immer noch ein „Rest“ – in \Windows\System32\winevt\Logs liegt die Datei Veeam Agent.evtx, die sich nicht löschen lässt mit dem Hinweis „Die Aktion kann nicht abgeschlossen werden, da die Datei in Windows-Ereignisprotokoll geöffnet ist“.

Currently I found how to delete backups after a certain number of them have been made, but I'm really looking for only when the repository (external hard drive) is full.
Aug 10, 2021 · When you delete backup files from a disk, Veeam Backup & Replication deletes the whole chain from the backup repository. Thus, on the next run of the backup job, Veeam Backup & Replication will create full backups for VMs included in the job. Mind the following: Do not delete backup files from the backup repository manually.

30.10.2014 · Yes, it won't be deleted, Veeam works correctly. You can't expect from it to delete VM data in existing backup chain. Once backup is done, it's packed and Veeam is not going to mix or rebuild. Bob, I'd not recommend you to select a new backup job for each VM, in this case you lose an opportunity of deduplication within one backup job.
