Veeam is an awesome product and my company is partners with them. We resell it to all our clients and the program just works. It's hard to recommend an alternative to that. Other alternatives might be Backup Exec and Acronis but still, both those have nothing on Veeam. P.S.

Veeam isn’t all that expensive compared to competitors (but still a lot of money). I believe I pay around 22.000eur per year for 22 sockets. So those are the cpu’s on the hypervisors that are licensed. You need payed esxi licenses, or else esxi won’t unlock the backup api Veeam uses.
