26.11.2021 · Backup from storage snapshots has the following limitations: Backup from storage snapshots does not support vRDM disks. vRDM disks are skipped from processing. Backup from storage snapshots cannot be used for VMs whose disks are located on VVol datastores. Backup from storage snapshots cannot be used to back up VM templates.
Nov 25, 2015 · Veeam Backup Free Edition’s most obvious limitations are that: It doesn’t do incremental or differential backups. This is quite significant because you won’t be able to store as many backups. It doesn’t allow you to backup more than 1 VM at a time. This will impact the backup window.

Aug 02, 2017 · The free version of Veeam has a lot of power for being free. As others have stated, you can incorporate some PowerShell scripts to give it a little more power if needed. The support for the free products at Veeam doesn't disappoint (or hasn't disappointed me so far) as the turn around time has always been great for being email based.

My superior said, and I quote "There are people, who managed to write some scripts and Veeam free become as good as Veeam Pro, in terms of quality, and how much you can achieve with it.
