I have a standalone ESXi host that I want to store the repository on (my Veeam server is on another ESXi host). As this is new to me I'm looking for clarification on how best to setup iSCSI. I am trying to decide which way to go for a backup storage replacement project. I am buying new backup storage of about 100TB.

Previously, I was using VEEAM with a SOBR, with CIFS as performance extent and MINIO as Capacity extent (S3 compatible). No issue. I switched to iSCSI and it goes wrong with my SOBR, VEEAM seems to lose my repository while doing the SOBR tiering (Failed to offload backup Error: Cannot find repository: {1FC66742-512C-42A4-A7E4-6C77D9C9D607}).
