I believe this has something to do with the host name. I think the SQL server is referencing the old host name, prior to me changing it when I added the server to the domain.

These three Veeam Server was running with Windows Server 2012 R2, and I needed to upgrade to Windows Server 2016. So backup the Veeam Servers and start the Windows upgrade.

Dec 18, 2018 · After that the service should start up like normal. Now the event log about the database issue makes sense because of the registry setting for the SQL server name.
