If you want a lot of restore points and you dont use tape, reverse incremental is the way to go. If you want to use tape, and dont need that much restore points, go incremental. Forward & Reverse only dictate which way the backup chain stores its data. Reverse incremental makes the newest backup a full, and ejects out older changed data into reverse incremental restore points.
