Nov 15, 2011 · To store multiple copies of the archived VM, I can create a Veeam File copy job to then copy the archived VMs from the SAN attached drive to a CIFS share on our replicated Exagrid appliances. However, since VMs get added to the source drive on a daily basis, File Copy has to copy the entire contents of the drive to the Exagrid appliances each time.

If the list contains files/folders with the same names and extensions, Veeam Backup & Replication copies only one instance of a file/folder.

From what I can tell, the file copy job isn't a backup, it just copies files from point A to point B. No retention, no restore points, nada for backups.
