We back up a file server with an extremely large number of files and perform guestfile indexing on the drive where the work files are stored. Mostly the indexing takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but sometimes it takes up to 18 hours. Does anyone have an idea why this may be?

Dec 06, 2018 · Veeam Agent for Windows with Throttling runs very slow. We're evaluating VEEAM Agent for Windows 2.2.0.589 as a solution to back up our barebone MS SQL Server 2017 on Windows Server 2016, backing up whole server using installed VEEAM CBT driver. The disk is 4Tb Intel P4600 NVMe SSD, pretty fast one, with ~2Tb used in databases and system files.

22.02.2012 · OP. royboy1999 Feb 20, 2012 at 11:14 PM. The first backup being incredibly slow after upgrade is a known issue. I personally believe they are actually doing a "full" not an incremental and verifying it which is why it takes so long. My first backup I had to kill 2 times because of how long it was running.

Feb 20, 2012 · JonSchultz Feb 20, 2012 at 11:01 AM. At a minimum, create a VM for Veeam and connect your external drive to the Veeam VM. That will only use up 60 GB or so of your datastore. The Veeam application should be running in a VM, but the destination storage can be your external drive, NAS, etc...
