Jul 12, 2016 · Update: I called Veeam support and spoke to Gary who indicated that somehow the replica metadata became detached or disconnected and that for the first run of all replica jobs going forward, Veeam would have to recalculate ALL digest information (between my running VM, and the existing/remapped/re-seeded replica) which would basically regenerate the lost/disconnected CBT data.

Nick, you can simply copy this folder to the new repository (keeping the full path to its content) prior to running your replica jobs and then edit replica jobs to point them to the new repository for storing replica metadata. After that metadata should be picked up by your jobs.

23.08.2012 · Re: Repository for Replica metadata. The data should be rebuilt, it is not THAT important to replication. It weighs about nothing and the VM disk digests would just need re-calculated if it was to disappear. Just make sure you put the metadata on the source side, not target side. Copy the folder for the particular replica to the Replicas folder in the new repository, then edit the replication job to point it to the new repository. Verify the job works, then delete the original VM folder. VMware replica metadata folders are named using the MOREF ID of the replica VM.
