18.02.2013 · We use Forward Incremental mode on Veeam for backups which creates daily vib files in addition to the vbk base file and vrm. Therefore each day we need only backup/synchronise changed files. Many ways to do this including running backup copies within Veam etc but we use GoodSync to replicate/synchronise changes to target devices.

Jun 28, 2012 · Yes, a synthetic full is a (very disk intensive) operation performed by Veeam to start with the last VBK and roll all VIB files into it, to create a new VBK - at this point, that file alone being needed to restore the most recent backups.

And my initial 1-1-2015 vbk (non archived, connected to the server) file was replaced with a more recent date, I also have a vib file that is slightly larger than the large vbk file. This will pose a problem in the future as space becomes a concern.

03.01.2017 · Re: .vib files but no .vbk files? No, SOBR is using "Data locality" option. Only one VM is listed under "Disk (Imported)", and looks to be a good backup, with a single file which is a full backup. Thanks a lot.

Immutable backups question in V11 (VIB vs VBK) If you have an immutable backup repository, are your VIBs supposed to be immutable in addition to your VBKs? I have a test repository for this and when I run lsattr , from the Linux server, only the VBK files have the "i" flag - there are no flags on the VIB files.

Fortunately, it's New Year's day, so I am able to start a brand new backup, and now have ONE .VBK file that I just created. Unfortunately, I only wanted to delete the files OLDER than the latest .VBK, not every single file.
