May 21, 2015 · ZFS is great, but you have to actually architect the ZFS storage to meet your performance and don't expect to use RaidZ2 pools and have performance similar to a hardware RAID controller in RAID60 with the same set of disks, etc. ZFS is not going to win any performance contest with RAIDZ2 especially if you didn't architect it with a performance target in mind and instead just get the biggest ...

XFS copy works pretty much the same way as Refs does, again, as by design. Here is an excerpt from the man page of XFS_copy and it also lists alternatives (mkfs.xfs (8) and xfsdump (8)/xfsrestore (8)) instead of the simple copy. When moving filesystems from one disk to another, if the original filesystem is significantly smaller than the new ...

ZFS vs XFS - Linux Hint

While ZFS is designed to be reliable, XFS’ main selling point is its support for fast parallel I/O. OpenZFS is designed as a copy-on-write file system which means even when data is being modified, it is done by writing a new data block first and then getting rid of the old data block.
Anyone using freenas(trunas) for veeam repo : Veeam

TrueNAS is BSD / ZFS. We do use TrueNAS as a destination but with the recommendations from v11 we are re-evaluating moving across to xfs for some of the features that it suggests using xfs for. You may use MinIO (S3 compatible) with truenas and set it for backup repository with immutable option in veeam.

17.07.2017 · Re: ReFS vs XFS Repo's. One of the major pain points for us with ReFS repos is the inability to move synth fulls that are fast cloned, since this would then cause the files to inflate. From my research, based on the design of both XFS and ReFS this is just how the file systems are designed to function.
