Is windows movie maker dead? i.e I saw on other posts that Microsoft had shunned down the project ages ago. Then how are such torrents (verified) floating around on various sites? I m looking for a decent video editor.
Downloaded, installed and I'm back and running Movie Maker!! This has been my go to movie maker for many years and for a PC, I have found nothing (paid or free) that is as simple and clean for making simple videos. 1,000 reddit points for you!!!!
Tip. After a long process of elimination, I finally determined that what was hanging my two 7 computers was Malwarebytes V4.4.2 and 4.4.3. The problems disappeared after uninstalling those, and replacing with V4.4.4. Both OS's were 7 64-bit, one pro, one home. I still recommend the full paid suite of MB, though.
Hit Film Express is also good compositing tool that in some ways lets you emulate what you can do in After Effects using layers and composites. OpenShot should fit the bill. Right-click audio track > Display > Show waveform. Though it's a fair bit more advanced than movie maker.
I was quite surprised to see that Windows 10 has no Windows Movie Maker. I love using that program because it is so easy to use. I have no idea why they would let go of that software.

Okay, this is going to sound very odd, but I am wanting to have Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7, but they recently stopped offering Windows Essentials 2012 (not that I would use any of those other applications that were offered) but I just want to use the app in an ironic fashion as well as to use as a small introduction to video editing.
