08.07.2017 · Install Server Not Responding in Windows 10. I keep getting a popup box showing "Windows Installer preparing to install". It grinds away for eternity it seems, then another box shows up saying "Installer server not responding". If I hit retry or cancel it goes back to the first box and tries to install. I have no idea what it is trying to do.
