Feb 21, 2020 · It is possible to setup a LAN to LAN VPN connection between two Unraid systems running Wireguard. The steps below should work on simple networks, if yours is more complicated then you'll need to figure out how to adapt it. This assumes you already have at least one working WireGuard connection and are familiar with how it works.

The server is on a cloud based VPS, with port forwarding & DNS, so that all works fine. The problem is as soon as I activate wireguard on Windows 10 I lose access to other computers on the local LAN. I use RDP a lot to access other computers in my apartment, like a headless raspberry pi, for example. Any thoughts on how to fix that.

Before connecting to the VPN server, the client is able to ssh into the LAN host using its LAN IP (192.168.0.158), After connecting the client to the VPN server, it's no longer able to ssh into the LAN host at the same IP.

28.11.2021 · Activating Wireguard from within the same LAN network blocks access to the LAN. If you try from outside your LAN it does work though. I didn't dig further as that fitted what I wanted and was fine with deactivating Wireguard when inside my LAN. I'm not sure if this is a firewall iptables issue or a routing issue, or a Wireguard issue.

Apr 06, 2020 · One approach would be to give the WireuGard interface on server Alpha an address from the remote lan, and vice versa. This is fine for two networks and if you can reserve the addresses out of the DHCP range of each. But the approach I have use is to reserve a different private IP range for the tunnel endpoint network .
