I found a "Cap for Auto Attack Max Damage Increase: 200% -> 300%" update from january, not sure if that has to do with AS. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

There is an attack speed buff cap of 120% from active abilities. Passive attack speed bonuses don't count towards that cap though. See here for confirmation from 2018 by Retroman. There may be an issue with attack speed in general though, it's currently under investigation on this bug report thread
