After the patch is installed you can turn the vpn off & goto the albion folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\AlbionOnline\game". within that folder you will find two albion.exe open "launch_albion_online.exe" and the game will start up fine - make it into a shortcut on desktop to open it easier.

You can still play the game if you start the game directly from executable AlbionOnline\game -> launch_albion_online.exe. Or open launcher -> Settings -> Game Folder and start the game from the app there. Bug Report Guidelines.
