Jun 18, 2018 · Simple fix for those who have the same problem: -Download the portable version from here. -Extract the content of the archive to "game" sub-folder of your game folder. -Open the launcher. -Play the game. This way, there is no need to download the portable version every time an update comes out.

Had the same problem, download was failing with various errors. Tried reinstalling, etc. but nothing helped. Finally updated after about 20 minutes of trying.
