Luckily for me and many other players, Albion Online has an awesome system against them. You report a bot and within a couple of hours, the problem is dealt with.
Basically there are 3x as many possible spawn points in a zone than there are actual nodes of resources. So only like 1/3 of the nodes are used each day, and these are selected randomly. So botting in albion isnt that simple.

Lately, while doing other things on my computer, I keep Albion Online in the background occasionally clicking every few minutes on some t2 and/or t3 resources near my character.

So botting in albion isnt that simple. The old bots used to work by injecting the game and then getting the location of the nodes through a coordinate system that is built into the game. However an update at the start of this year stopped this by encoding the data of nodes and players, with no easy way to decipher this information the bots usually fail to run.
Botting isn't a huge problem in this game yet. Though I can imagine that there will be some botting in the future (transport bots and continued seaweed fishing bots). Yes you can get rich by mining a ton but it will take some startup time. Both PVE and PVP are viable money makers. I also have an osrs background.
