To me, only a small percentage of people are really playing "end-game content" while a larger percentage of the population is simply chasing it, or using "end-game content" as a recruiting tool to bring in PVP hungry players. If everyone was playing end-game shit, then it would just be "The game".

Your correct, but in the end people just use sand to throw at each other. Hence why pvp is the end game of a sandbox. You can say you like doing X activity in a sandbox, but X always equals pvp in the end.
