Your correct, but in the end people just use sand to throw at each other. Hence why pvp is the end game of a sandbox. You can say you like doing X activity in a sandbox, but X always equals pvp in the end.

End game in wow is grinding stuff endlessly to get 0.000001% drop chance items etc. Here items are mostly craftable or can be acquired without endless grinding.
