Of course your friend can make it so they can have Steam launch the Albion Online Launcher, so you can see them playing via their Steam information.

May 17, 2018 · Due to how Steam works, you will not be able to do so. This is the same issue with Black Desert Online and other similar games that got brought over to Steam. It's unfortunately out of the Albion teams hands.. You can link the native client to steam as a non-steam game though, just wouldn't be able to get steam achievements and such.
