Please, read the entire document before proceeding because it includes two different approaches. 05.03.2021 · For installing Arch with btrfs, we need to make 2 minimum partitions. /boot/efi partition (300MB size) / (root) partition. However another essential partiton is the /swap partition. Swap partiton is used as additional RAM if your system runs out of RAM. It is also essential if you want to hibernate or suspend your OS.
To enable compression when installing Arch to an empty Btrfs partition, use the compress option when mounting the file system: mount -o compress=zstd ...
