I tried reinstalling entrance and LightDM with no luck. I even tried editing grub's entry appending '1' or 's' and still no dice. Any help would be appreciated.

GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader) is a boot loader. The current GRUB is also referred to as GRUB 2. The original GRUB, or GRUB Legacy, corresponds to versions 0.9x. This page exclusively describes GRUB 2. Note: In the entire article esp denotes the mountpoint of the EFI system partition aka ESP.

I had recently performed full system upgrade and to do so I issued command. sudo pacman -Syu. and after successful installation of update, I rebooted my machine and after reboot I am only seeing black screen and also I am not able to access terminal (if display manager had broken).

06.01.2014 · Hey Arch folks! I'm very new to Arch Linux, and only have been using Linux since August. I'm currently trying out Arch in Virtual Box and downloaded the latest release from the site. My problem is that after the installation, once I try to boot my installed OS, it just leaves me with a black screen after I make my selection in GRUB.

04.01.2014 · I thought I'd give Arch a try and wanted to install it as a guest VM in Virtualbox. I downloaded the 2013.11.01 release ISO (checked md5 sigs) and went to install in my Virtualbox environment. I'm currently running Gentoo as the host (64-bit) and have 64-bit Windows 7, CentOS, and Ubuntu guests that all run without issue.

I can get to GRUB no problem, but after telling it to boot (whether it's with open source or proprietary drivers) I freeze on a black screen. While I'm trying to get Garuda installed, I've tried a few different distros - Mint, Ubuntu, Arch - all with the same issue.

Black screen after suspend/hibernate/afk. I recently installed Arch and my only gripe is that I can't seem to fix this issue with the computer not turning on properly after sleep/hibernation.
