@TheGoliath, both Chrome 80 and 81 share the same shipped widevine plugin version. There is no reason to update this package until there is a Chrome version released with a newer shipped widevine plugin update.

17.04.2015 · Thank god this package is still updated! Not sure if it's this one that did the trick or "qt5-webplugin-widevine". I installed both but I think this is the one that works. I use Edge, and under Edge://flags, widevine is still unrecognized as a thing just like hardware encode/decode and video hardware acceleration ("unavailable on your platform").

I've gone to chrome://plugins (on chromium) and I haven't found a "Widevine Content Decryption Module" plugin there.
