A synology nas is the best of all worlds here, though the hardware isn't super fast, it'll do all jobs. It's multi disk raid, so there's parity in case a drive fails. It's a nas, so you can use it for storage or to send backups to. If you want the nextcloud web/cloud storage, it can run that. Or ftp/sftp. Or plex. Or Apache. Or whatever.
