Your mileage may vary. This worked with my Synology DS920+ (running latest as of 12/29/21, DSM 7.0.1-42218) and Windows 10 client (also latest as of 12/29/21, i.e., 2H21 w/ Dec updates) You need to have two gigabit network interfaces on both your Synology & PC for this to do anything useful.

So if you’re running an older version of the NAS software, switch to DSM 6.2 first and then you’ll see the DSM 7.0 build. Full list of Synology NAS models eligible for DSM 7.0. 29.06.2021 · I understand DSM 7.0 will be released officially on 29 June, and once upgrading from DSM 6.2 is accomplished, there will be no going back. Even though the DSM 7.0 "official" version likely will be virtually identical to DSM 7.0 RC with some tweaks, I've seen comments on this forum suggesting that the RC version is not yet ready for prime time.
