23.10.2016 · I'm currently using NVIDIA binary driver - version 367.57 for my Nvidia video card but I'm using my Intel video card to run loki because if I try using Nvidia, when I restart/shutdown/suspend my screen just goes black and It goes back to Intel after I force restart with the power button. And my kernel version is 4.7.5 –

I know this is a spread out problem out there. 3 days ago i installed el os (loki) on my computer and i noticed that after suspension, when i had a wake up the screen remained black. no pointer, anything, moreover the screen power button shows me a red light (like there's no signal).
After suspend the netbook does not wake up. The screen leaves black. I read that it is necessary to have a swap partition and not only a swap file. Once you reboot, when you are presented the Login Screen you can test the results by pressing the power button which should suspend the machine, not power it off. Now, on my machine at least, when I pressed the power button it took about 3-5 seconds for the machine to suspend. Hope this answers your question and good luck!!!
