Settings in DDG can either be applied temporarily with DuckDuckGo's URL parameters, locally as cookies, or globally using DDG's Cloud Save feature. I am no designer by any stretch of the imagination (as you can probably see!), but here are a couple of themes I made, along with their code if you want to try them.

Out of the box with no changes, duckduckgo. If you're willing to put time into customizing, Firefox wins easily. That being said I don't personally trust duckduckgo yet as I haven't done research on it beyond knowing its in the usa and the search engine is better then using google.

You could also add keywords in firefox by right clicking on a search field. This way you don't even need to go to duckduckgo. for example if you added "w" as a keywork for the wikipedia search field, you can type "w cats" to search wikipedia for cats. 23.

Personal opinion: it feels more cosmetically refined than Firefox's Relay e.g. you can click on the "DuckDuckGo removed trackers from x and more →" at the top of an email and you'll be directed to a webpage with the trackers removed, the email alias that was used, the senders email and a button to deactivate the alias, along with other FAQ and privacy information.

For quick searches to simple questions I use duckduckgo (I like the auto-clear functionality) , for more extensive browsing sessions I use firefox. 3. r/privacy.
