I’ve been using DuckDuckGo for a few years, and I think the biggest difference is that if you give an ambiguous query, Google will throw 20 different result types at the wall to see what sticks. And DuckDuckGo will just give you the 10 results that best match the ambiguous query, so probably not what you wanted.
