So I have noticed that the font rendering in the Gnome DE under Arch linux doesn't yield a sharp image even when anti-aliasing is set to sub pixel in gnome tweaks. So here I want to know what would be your take on improving the font rendering.
As I have learned, there is some ugly font rendering because WebKit doesn't like to be ... font settings (~/.config/fontconfig), at least in Arch Linux.

Both gnome-tweak-tool and Cinnamon settings have a "None, Grayscale, RGBA" setting. Also, I doubt you will ever get it looking exactly the same because I think Ubuntu tweaks the rendering a bit, though that may not be the case anymore.

One GUI tool that exists in Software Center is gnome-tweak-tool - its a partial solution to allow you to customise some aspects of fonts.
