thastealth. · 1y. Hassio is an OS + Home Assistant. Home Assistant as stand alone requires an OS, (preferably some Linux kind, but Windows and MacOS will work to). So it depends on your knowledge level and how much control you want in your setup (and time you want to invest). In your case it also depends what you want to do with the Pi.
