Today I had an interesting case where a customer called in to let us know that Checkpoints were stuck on their Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V Host. Everything had been working great on this host since it was upgraded from Windows Server 2016 back in November.

Please check if there are any checkpoint schedule running on the VM, if yes, try to remove the checkpoint and check if it could work. Cannot see any schedules running to create checkpoints. Can you create the checkpoints using powershell? Run the following command to create Hyper-V checkpoints: Checkpoint-VM -Name <VMName>.
Apr 19, 2019 · we are using Arcserve Backup, and recently, fine out that the server hang when backup is running. we did try to perform checkpoint without Arcserve Backup, run both VM checkpoints together, and it hit the same issue. the symptoms is, run checkpoint for 1 VM, there will be fine, if run more than 2 VMs, it will hang and stuck at 9%.
You can see that it is stuck with Creating Checkpoint at 9%. We hadn’t patched this host since it had been deployed and figured that might be the issue. Step 2: Step 2. ... So now I have a note to self of patching my Hyper-V Hosts before moving to Veeam 9.5 UR4.
