I have 8 GB of RAM and A virtual machine fails to start even sometimes with 1 GB of ram or less. Most of them are occupied. I tried disabling startup apps but the result remains the same.

Apr 06, 2018 · First, not sure what you mean 'standby' memory. With Hyper-V, memory is assigned to any running VM, including ones that are paused. Memory is grabbed when the VM starts up (whether from off or from saved), and is released when the VM is stopped (either saved or fully off).

Memory is grabbed when the VM starts up (whether from off or from saved), and is released when the VM is stopped (either saved or fully off). See the earlier post for some things to try - these will show you what memory is assigned and where.
