It's possible that the config files got corrupted and the VM won't start because of that. It's good to see you fixed it, but maybe in the future it might be a good idea to keep a copy of the config folder just in case.
Dec 21, 2020 · Specifically, I recommend checking out the Applications and Services \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Hyper-V-VMMS \ Admin log. In many cases, this log will tell you the exact cause of the error. In the case of the event logs indicating that the reason why the VM cannot start is because its virtual DVD drive is pointing to an ISO file that no longer exists.
