Reported speech imperatives, also known as reported commands, follow a slightly different structure to normal indirect speech. We use imperatives to give orders, advice, or make requests.

Use a negative infinitive (not+ infinitive) to report negative imperatives. Direct speech. Indirect speech. “Don't go”. He told her not.

Indirect Speech of Imperative Sentences An imperative sentence is a sentence that expresses command, advice, request, or suggestion.
